The EOS D30 was Canon's first digital SLR and retailed at $3,000 when new! This is still an excellent camera by today's standards and would serve as a great, low-cost, introduction to digital SLR photography or as a backup camera in a professional rig. The D30 shares many similarities to Canon's current dSLR bodies, the only major difference being the lower resolution. Among the features offered by the EOS D30 are: 3.25MP CMOS imaging sensor, 11 shooting modes, 35-zone evaluative/matrix, center-weighted average and 10% partial metering modes, One Shot, AI, and AI Servo focusing, auto exposure bracketing (+/- 2 stops), flash exposure compensation (+/- 2 stops), built-in E-TTL pop-up flash with red-eye reduction, support for both TTL and E-TTL metering, pentaprism viewfinder with dioptric adjustment, 30 sec to 1/4000 sec shutter speed with Bulb mode, 3fps continuous shooting mode and JPEG/RAW image recording modes.
