The Speedlite 550EX is one of Canon's most advanced flashes, succeeded only by the marginally more powerful and significantly more expensive 580EX.The 550EX is a powerful flash and has a Guide Number of 138' at 50mm and 180' at 105mm, making it perfect for a variety of creative lighting scenarios. This amount of flash power is very useful for effective fill flash, even from a distance, on bright, sunny days and bounce flash when shooting indoors. Features-wise, the 550EX boasts fully automatic operation and supports both TTL and the more recent E-TTL metering, full manual mode, bounce/swivel flash head with motorized zoom, flash exposure compensation, flash exposure lock, wireless TTL mode, stroboscopic / FP flash and a backlit LCD display.
